  • Check out at 10am unless an alternative time is agreed in advance.

WiFi

  • Network: Holmefield

  • Password: Beourguest!

Please note the driveway is shared with other guests. Please excuse any inconvenience as we continue to improve the site by renovating two outbuildings in the back field.

Please park opposite the front door without blocking the driveway.

Unless you ask us not to, we may come to the house daily to check the chemical levels in the spa.

The TV is ready for you to relax and unwind after a day on the beach or exploring the town. It is connected to streaming services.

  • Live TV & Catch-Up

    • Open BBC iPlayer for BBC channels

    • Open ITVX for ITV channels

    • Watch live TV using the 'Channels', 'Live TV', and 'Watch Live' options on these apps.

  • You are also welcome to watch your favourites on the other apps available, like Netflix and YouTube.

Sit back, put your feet up, maybe make yourself a cuppa, and enjoy a cosy night in after your Scarborough adventures!

A Few Rules

  • We do not allow smoking inside the property or lighted candles.

  • The house is not connected to mains sewage and relies on a septic tank. Please do not put anything down the toilet except human waste and toilet paper.

    • Like, seriously, please don't put wipes or feminine hygiene products (or legos, plush toys, or anything else) down the loo; we have had to get a plumber out to unblock the drains a few times before, and it is SOOO gross. It can ruin a holiday for the people after you.

  • You are welcome to exercise your pets in the garden but please clean up after them. If you have forgotten poo bags, there are spares in the utility room. Please check with us if you want to access the field behind the garden with your dog as there may be sheep grazing.

  • Please enjoy the hot tub, but adhere to our spa rules. They are for your safety and enjoyment.

Using the Hob

  • The hob is an induction hob and heats up really fast.

  • Turn it on by pressing the power button.

  • If when you turn it on, it shows the letter "L" on all the eyes, press the padlock button for 3 seconds to unlock it.

Coffee

  • There is a Lavazza A Modo Mio Jolie Evo capsule coffee machine. Quick start instructions are taped to the side.

  • First, make sure the water tank at the back is full and fully engaged. You know it is connected if you see a little bubble rise from the connection point when you reattach it.

  • Raise the capsule loading lever, insert the capsule and lower the lever fully.

  • If the machine is asleep, you may have to press the button once to wake it up (it will flash on the first press if this is the case). When it goes from flashing to solid white circle, press it briefly again to start brewing.

  • If you do nothing, it will make a 'long' cup of coffee. If you want a short coffee, press the button again to stop the water.

  • The used pod collecting drawer has a transparent window that allows you to see how full the drawer is. If the led flashes
faster, empty the capsule drawer and reset by pressing the ON/OFF button.

Bins, Trash and Recycling

  • The blue bin is for recycling. The bin in the kitchen has separate compartments for recycling and rubbish. Please recycle!

  • The green bin is for general waste. Please put dog mess bags in the green bin.

Heating

  • We use an Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) to keep the house warm. Controls are on the wall. It is most efficient to keep the temperature consistent.

  • The fire in the living room is a wood-burning stove.

  • Only using dry, seasoned wood to prevent excessive smoke and creosote buildup.

  • Never overload the stove with wood.

  • Keep flammable materials, furniture, or decorations at least one metre away from the stove.

  • Do not leave the stove unattended while burning.
